Bamboo is versatile with a short growth cycle. It can be harvested in 3-5 years versus 10-50 years for most softwoods and hardwoods. Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant on this planet. Thanks to its rapid growth, the yield is up to 25 times higher than that of timber. It has the capacity to readily replenish itself after reaping, provided that it is properly harvested. It is thus an eco-friendly alternative to hardwoods, and is recognized as a green material under LEED.

  • Bamboo is one of the strongest building materials, with a tensile strength that rivals steel and weight-to-strength ratio surpassing that of graphite. Bamboo's tensile strength is 28,000 per square inch versus 23,000 for steel. It withstands up to 52,000 pounds of pressure psi.
  • Bamboo is up to 50 times stronger than oak but lighter than steel or concrete. It is flexible and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Bamboo fibers are far stronger than wood fibers and much less likely to warp from changing atmospheric conditions. Bamboo fibers are also used to strengthen composite materials.
  • Bamboo is a strong and tough material that resists shrinkage and swelling. Carbonized and laminated bamboo proves to be very durable.
  • Bamboo is great at absorbing sound.

Bamboo is a renewable plant, botanically a grass, and is often considered a weed. Bamboo is eaten, made into briquettes for fuel, made into fabrics, used for building materials, made into paper, used in construction and in making green furniture, decorative accessories, and even vinegar and cosmetics. In fact, bamboo has been used for construction and furniture longer than other hardwoods. It’s such a multi-purpose plant!

Bamboo as a furniture material is a sustainable alternative to teak and other hardwoods conventionally used to make furniture. Bamboo is used to make a variety of eco-friendly furniture, ranging from chairs and tables, sofas and loveseats, cabinets, dressers, entertainment centers, and many more.

Appearance: Bamboo furniture is blessed with a delicate grain that gives it a style of its own. This fine and delicate grain, whether natural or amber-toned, makes it a distinctive, elegant, and subtle material for fine furniture. Bamboo furniture is available in many stains and finishes nowadays.

Durability: Bamboo furniture can withstand everyday use. It is far more resistant to damage than traditional hardwoods.

Resistance to swelling and shrinking: Bamboo furniture won't swell or shrink due to atmospheric changes if properly maintained.

Strength: In a pressed and laminated form, bamboo's strength is enhanced, and the lamination provides another layer against the wear and tear of use.

Human touch: Bamboo furniture is made with many personal contacts to ensure the complete satisfaction of end users. It gives a house a lovely soft feel.
